Teachers

Teacher - Karen Stringer

In addition to classes given by Anna, there will be additional tuition by the former director of the School, Karen Stringer.

Karen was born and raised in Canada and moved to England on her marriage in 1970.

She attended ballet and ice skating classes as a child, but for short periods only and also attended jazz ballet classes while at university.

At the age of 34 she attended an amateur adult ballet class given in Cambridge by Nina Gerseva Hubbard, a former Russian ballerina and founder of the school.  Karen quickly became addicted to ballet and began training with Nina Hubbard to become a teacher.

She took over the running of the school when Mrs Hubbard retired in 1984 and eventually qualified in as a professional teacher in the National Association of Teachers of Dancing, taking the Associate exam at the age of 47, the Membership exam at the age of 49 and the Fellowship exam at the age of 53, and has over 25 years built up a reputation for training adult beginners to a high standard of dancing.
